What if kindness could roll right up to your door?
At The Kindness Project, that’s not just a nice idea… it’s the next bold chapter in their mission to serve youth and families impacted by foster care.
Based in Pennsylvania, The Kindness Project (TKP) is a grassroots nonprofit working to bring equity, dignity, and practical support to children navigating some of life’s biggest transitions. Since 2017, they’ve supported more than 3,000 children with essential items like clothing, school supplies, beds, and baby gear, all completely free. Their goal is simple but powerful: make sure every child feels seen, supported, and worthy of care.
With help from a $1,000 Kindness Grant, TKP is preparing to launch a new initiative: a mobile boutique that can bring resources directly to families, especially in rural or hard-to-reach areas. This traveling hub will offer more than just items. It will offer choice, connection, and a sense of normalcy for children and caregivers who often go without.
We were especially moved by the heart behind this effort. Foster families do incredible work, but often lack the time, resources, or transportation to access support. The mobile boutique meets them where they are (literally), reducing barriers and bringing kindness straight to the doorstep. It’s a way to say: You’re not alone. You matter. And we see you.
This project aligns beautifully with our Building Thriving Communities pillar. It strengthens connection, meets real needs, and helps families feel a deeper sense of belonging. But more than that, it reflects a belief we hold closely: that kindness shouldn’t be limited to convenience or circumstance. It should go where it’s needed most.
We’re proud to support The Kindness Project as they put that belief into motion—mile by mile, neighborhood by neighborhood, child by child.
